Things seem to be happening in the reach!

(OOC: I, as a DM, have placed a good few event sites for lower XP/newer characters around the world, they're not hidden or hard to find, so get searching! Around 5 are placed right now with this in mind, but I will likely place more!)

Those that frequent or live in the Undercity may have noticed today a procession of robed and masked individuals pass through, and enter the recently uncovered catacombs. Three in particular were distinguishable at the lead of the procession. Two men of fair complexion, one of blonde hair, another of dark hair. The Dark haired man dressed like he was of Nobility, while the Blonde dressed more casually, more akin to a commoner. The third was a woman, with stark red hair and golden eyes dressed in what could have been scholarly robes.

Of note, only the men were seen to have departed.

(This is buildup of an ongoing eventline and they will reappear in the future)

[!]

In the early morning, a few of the spire's inhabitants might have noticed a change to the light house. A plain green banner now sails in the wind.

When the lighthouse Keeper is asked about it, they mention it was explained to them that permission was sought and granted. And that it is merely to mark the port as a welcoming one.

From a few small vessels returning to the Spire's dock, Rumors spread of a large merchant ship sighted sailing down the Reach's Coast.

A report to the guards by Grist and Lucian - A vampire attack that occurred just outside the entrance to the Undercity. Repelled and no one was too badly hurt. Charred earth remains as though lightning struck the area. And a corpse, further out the edge of town in the direction the assailing vampire fled through. The corpse of another vampire.

Following their report, the Guards conducted their own investigation and found the signs of fighting, bloodshed as well as the remains of what has been surmised to be a vampire. The corpse was headless, it's heart staked and had already began to be calcified, seemingly to stone. The body was recovered, so too was the stone heart.

Then, another report was brought forward. A terrified citizen, who too was assailed by a vampire presumably for a meal but was saved by an unknown individual. 'The two moved like, similar'
And when directed to where it had occurred, another corpse. another stone heart.

Once, coincidence, twice - a pattern.
Vampires were being hunted. By by other vampires like the initial pair's report? or someone else entirely - that much was uncertain.

A Strange Smell of Smoke...

At midnight last night, the Fighting Pit was invaded by two colorfully-clad carnival workers: a Strongman and a Jester-clad Archer who sought to shoot down the mage Perilla. They nearly succeeded, leaving the mage critically injured and attempting to run off with her before they were struck down by onlooking heroes... The Jester was arrested first, seemingly having lost all the fight in her after Anwar spoke to her, the Strongman took a bit more convincing after being chased onto the roof by Mellory.

Rumors say that Hazel cornered the Strongman on the roof, and just barely stopped something terrible from happening by taking a shot at a mysterious onlooker in a nearby tree. The skies, for just a moment, smelled like Gunpowder and Smoke. Those in the cask last night heard a warning yell from the Spire's Medic:

"STOP THE SPELL!"

From there... the smell of smoke mysteriously vanished, and the Strongman was admitted to the hospital with full-body burns from no clear source. After being treated by Hazel, the Strongman was taken into custody by the guards: ending the Circus' terror for the night... But suspicions now rise over what that Spell could have been.

Departure of a Steward

Amidst the chaos and carnage that festered outside the guardhouse, whispers wound their way through the Spire. Some swore they had seen the Lady Steward herself stepping into a waiting carriage—composed and unhurried. There was talk that another figure accompanied her. But when pressed for detail, memories frayed at the edges. Faces blurred. Certainty dissolved. It was as though the mind refused to hold the image for long.

And so—she departed.

Those who sought answers from the clerks were met with polite deflection—soft assurances of a brief reprieve, a necessary rest. Nothing more.

What a curious time to take one.

People in Albern's Crossing were unnerved. The Moontusk family, a smith and a shopkeep, had left for a few days along with their children eastward for a trip to the base of the Amafells. What remained dwelling around their estate was a large creature, made of purely Stone and with glowing inscriptions upon its malformed surface, it would not allow any to pass the threshold into the property; it could be seen watering plants, feeding the dog and maintaining the home during this absence, the sound of its mineral body scraping against itself during nighttime made it clear the thing did not even rest.

OOC:

Spoiler
I'll be taking a break from Avalore for the first 3 days of march! Been feeling some burnout so I'll dedicate myself to prancing around the enchanted Argentina forests looking for duendes or whatever it is I do for a bit then come back.

Around midnight, under the light of the moon. A bright-haired figure could be seen walking towards the shoals.

Not long after, a single blinking light could be seen. Then, it vanished under the waves, extinguished.

A light in remembrance of someone unknown.

Sun’s Absence

After his most recent expedition to the Amafell Mountains, Sun has not been seen in the Spire. Those that had answered the call to aid him in his Trial say He returned for some time after the Trial but then led them back for a Ceremony held by one of the Clans - the Ner’Ilu. The expedition members have returned for a while now since then, but say that Sun chose to stay among the Clan for the time being.

OOC: Sun is being shelved for the month of March (until the end of the IC year, March 28th) and perhaps longer, after having completed a significant character Arc. The time away is also to give sufficient reasoning for why he may return a little different. I’ve been debating where next to take him so I’m using the time to get that sorted out.

Any attempts to contact him in this time whether by nightsent or otherwise, will be resisted. However if you force it, He will simply mention he is fine and speak no further.

I have a character planned to fill the time ^^, and I’ll also be focusing a lot on my current ongoing eventlines.

Around town, a pale woman can be seen putting up small missing posters and notices wherever she can. Asking around to any passerby who might listen to her raspy whisper for aid. She is seeking the one described in the posters, a young void-touched named Ignis.

Where have they gone?
