Poster PSA: To Spirefolk and Troupemembers of the Midnight Circus
Started by Bliinx

"This is a public service announcement."

Copies of a poster are left on every public board in the Spire, and the public noticeboard of the Undercity within a few hours. The winged woman leaving them can be seen negotiating with travellers and caravans headed for Albern's the next morning, whereupon the papers will find their way with about a day's delay.

The handwriting is in navy ink, save for the first line. Cursive is forgone in order to maximize legibility

Terryn Fenro Bellefeuille, otherwise The Ringmaster of the Midnight Circus, is dead. With his death, we are left with the remnants of his troupe and the mark he left upon their lives. A Tellurgist with a penchant for the explosive, it's been discovered by several within the Spire including myself that he had taken to vivisecting and leaving explosive runes on the still-beating hearts and bodies of his troupemembers.

The procedure involves some cocktail mix of fire-based Tellurgy and alchemy, and is tied to Anima. The enchantment tracks failures of spellcraft, both of the subject's own and of any spells targetting them. A failure will increase a counter by one, and upon reaching three, explode. Attempting to alter the runes manually also risks detonation.

Documentation of symptoms and warning signs is ongoing but includes:
- Tellurgic signatures when viewed under effects such as Greater Resonance
- Vivisection scars along the sternum and chest
- Frequent pains and burning sensations, especially experienced externally

All known victims, thus far, were members of Terryn's entourage.

Safely disabling the runes should not be attempted at all without the specialized intervention of an experienced Ichor mage or other medical personnel versed in magical ailments. Non-magical interventions are possible but extremely risky, as is the usage of magic by or in the proximity of the affected (including Diagnostic to identify symptoms!). I urge any associated with or close to Terryn to seek out an examination at the Hospital as soon as possible to rule out the possibility, as your lives may well be on the line.
