Community Updates

New Community Team Lead!

• Admin Moony steps down from her position as Community Team Lead, and instates Spiritscribe as her replacement (hi all ^_^)!
  • Moony will continue to be Head of Moderation and Head of Staff.
  • Spiritscribe is now the Head of Community and Mentors.

Community Update

• On February 7th, we had our first Community Update hosted by Reedie. The Community Update Notes were written by Community Team Member @Insert.

Vampire Feedback Survey

• A Vampire Survey was released to collect feedback from vampire players. We received 17 total responses! The feedback from this survey will be used to guide Lore and Systems in future vampires updates. Thank you to all who submitted feedback!!

Tribune Elections

• Registration opened on February 27th and will remain open until March 6th. Voting will be conducted on March 7th and 8th, with results posted on the 9th.
• More information can be found here.

Build Updates

• The Catacombs Expansion is nearly done!! This is a new explorable dungeon in the Undercity. @Ropefish and @Waffleheart will be DMing the main eventline.
• The amazing @Aqua and @aux are renovating the island North-West of the Spire.
• River terraforming is underway. Expect to see some changes in the world and on Dynmap!
• Plans for an Undercity Parley Grounds and NPC Faction Locations

Lore Updates

Campaign 3 Is Upon Us

• Fractured Campaign is starting on March 7th
• #town-crier discord channel has been created to log all campaign events. This will provide a centralized place for all major events and vital information of the campaign to be freely available to everyone who wants to keep up with the campaign, but cannot attend every event.

Fables Update: Part 1

• New Fable! Lady Luck has replaced The Lucky Coin.
• Updates to Equinox & Phoenix, and Spirit Of The Dragon
• Complete rewrite of the Shrinekeeper.
• You can find all updated information on the Fables section of the compendium.

Patron Update

• Originally an underling, Myo has replaced Xinshi as the patron of Artifice.
• Please contact @Captain_Cynical or @Nerdocalypse for more information on Myo!

Expanded Lore Submissions

• @Insert submitted lore for the Mistan House de Causte and more world-wide Morsanguis (Scarlet Plague), which are live and have been posted to the forums.
• @KZ_Neilz submitted lore for the Hundred Horses of Fallstone, which is now live and posted to the forums.

Teasers

• Fables Part 2 is already underway.
• Bestiary update is also progressing... maybe seeing dragons?

Systems Updates

Arcane Initiation and Progression Changes

• A new update to Arcane Initiation and Progression has been implemented to help alleviate the backlog of mage applications. You can see the full changes on this page. Here are some highlights:
  • Underlings will be the primary contact for mages, rather than the Patrons themselves.
  • Player-specific storylines will not be built-in, but event requests can still be submitted.
  • Separating Patronage (old system) and Apprenticeship (new system).
  • Thaumic Shock, based on the mage's primary school of magic!

Teasers

• The much-anticipated Alchemy rework has begun!! Expect to see updates in the coming weeks and months.
• Along with the alchemy rework, Systems is looking to include an artisan crafting mechanic to go hand in hand with it.
  • This will allow people to craft various mundane alcohols, oils, and powders among other such things.
• Mutant Update is waiting on review and will come with some non-mutant balancing changes as well.

Technical Updates

Chat Changes

• Chat channels are now hex values instead of minecraft colours. They have all been tweaked slightly.
• When switching active channels, it now says how many people are in range when you join the channel.

New Commands

• Players can now do "/distance <range>" to list all people in a certain range.
• You can now use "/magic initiate" (or init) to initiate other mages, at a cost of 20 anima. Rank-ups at this time will still require a staff member as they need approval.
• Use "/toxicity (or /tox) <amount>" to manually increase your toxicity modifier (e.g. for Vampire effects). It will add negative modifiers as normal after you go over your daily cap.

Scene Emotes

• Introducing scene emotes! When you own or are a member of a region, you can set a scene emote using "/scene set <id> <emote>" and clear it with "/scene clear <id>."
• What does this do? - When other players walk into your region, they will be notified that there is a scene emote available. You can change this notification with /scene <text/sound/chat/off>. Text will display the notification above your hotbar, Sound will play a small chime, Chat will post the notification in chat, and Off will turn it off completely.
• Use /scene to display the scene emote for the region you are standing in.
